Diwali is the only festival which is connected to various religions and cultures. Diwali is celebrated among Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The Goddess Lakshmi (consort of Vishnu), who is the symbol of wealth and prosperity, is also worshipped on this day. In West Bengal, this festival is celebrated as Kali Puja, and Kali, Shiva’s consort, is worshipped on the occasion of Diwali. In Sikhs, Diwali is particularly because it celebrates the release from prison of the sixth guru, Guru Hargobind, and 52 other princes with him, in 1619. The Sikh tradition holds that the Emperor Jahangir had imprisoned Guru Hargobind and 52 princes. Several days before Diwali festival many family cleans their homes and their workplaces as well as people like to decorate and renovate their homes. Some people burn crackers on the Diwali which leads to major air pollution and destroy eco system and make environment worse for animal and mostly for birds nevertheless it also effect humans badly. The gases which extract from burning crackers cause serious breathing problems and lung diseases.
